Privacy, in plain English.

Here's what this site does with your information. The short version: we count visits with a cookieless counter that can't identify you, we don't run ad trackers, we don't set cookies, and the only information we get is what you choose to send us.

What we don't do.

We don't run Google Analytics, a Meta pixel, ad tags, heat maps, or session recording on this site. We looked. The one thing we do count is page views, and we do it with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which we explain below.

This site doesn't set cookies. Not for tracking, not for anything else. The blog, which runs on our own server, sets a cookie only if you sign in as a subscriber.

We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their marketing. Ever.

What we do collect, and what happens to it.

The contact form. It asks for your name, business, phone, email, town, what you need help with, and a message. When you hit Send, our server emails the whole thing to Nate at nate@marketingmainstreet.co through Resend, an email delivery service. The message isn't saved in a database on this site. It lives in our email inbox while we're talking or working together. Ask and we'll delete it.

To slow down spam, the server remembers the IP address a form came from for up to an hour after you submit. Then it forgets it.

Calls, texts, and emails. If you reach out directly, we keep the conversation the way any small business does, for as long as we're working together or as long as you want us to.

Server logs. Like every website, our server keeps standard access logs: IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and the browser type. We use them for security and to fix things when they break. Nothing else.

The blog. Our blog at marketingmainstreet.co/blog runs on Ghost, hosted on our own server. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us so we can send you new posts. Our monthly newsletter goes out through Beehiiv, an email sending service, so if you're on that list, Beehiiv holds your address too. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just ask us.

Third parties that see your visit.

A few outside services load as part of these pages. Each one sees your IP address and basic browser details when your browser fetches from it, the same way it would for any site that uses them.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. This is our visitor counter. It tells us which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and how fast the pages load. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and doesn't build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. Cloudflare sees your IP address to make the count work and doesn't keep it as part of the analytics. Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Google Fonts. Our type loads from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google's privacy policy covers it.

Google Maps. The map of our office in the footer of every page is a Google Maps embed. It loads from google.com and maps.googleapis.com, and Google's privacy policy applies to what happens inside that map.

Resend. Delivers the contact form to our inbox. Resend's privacy policy.

Beehiiv. Sends our monthly newsletter. Beehiiv's privacy policy.

jsDelivr and code.jquery.com. The blog pages load two small scripts from these public content networks so the subscribe button and search box work.

mainstreetaudit.com. Our free audit tools live on a separate site with its own privacy page.

Your choices.

You can block Google Fonts, the map embed, and the Cloudflare counter in your browser and this site still works. You can read every page here without giving us anything.

Want to see what we have from you, or want it gone? Email nate@marketingmainstreet.co or call or text (515) 422-6208. It's Nate who answers, and he'll take care of it.

If we change how this site handles information, we'll update this page and the date below.
